Creed is a band that gained immense popularity in the late 1990s and early 2000s. The band was formed in Tallahassee, Florida in 1995 and consisted of lead vocalist Scott Stapp, guitarist Mark Tremonti, bassist Brian Marshall, and drummer Scott Phillips. The band's sound was characterized by heavy guitar riffs and emotional lyrics.

Creed released their debut album "My Own Prison" in 1997, which quickly gained popularity with its single "My Own Prison." The album went on to sell over six million copies in the US alone, solidifying Creed as a major player in the rock music scene.

The band's follow-up album "Human Clay" was released in 1999 and featured hit singles such as "Higher" and "With Arms Wide Open." The album was another commercial success, selling over eleven million copies worldwide.

In 2001, Creed released their third studio album "Weathered," which debuted at number one on the Billboard charts. However, tensions within the band began to surface during this time. Stapp's personal struggles with alcoholism and drug addiction had become increasingly publicized, leading to conflicts between him and Tremonti.

In June of 2004, Creed announced that they were disbanding due to creative differences. However, rumors of a reunion began circulating in early 2009. In April of that year, the band officially announced that they had reunited for a new tour.

Despite initial excitement from fans about the reunion tour, it became clear that tensions between Stapp and Tremonti were still present. In June of 2012, Creed announced that they would be going on an indefinite hiatus.

Since then, members of Creed have pursued various solo projects. Tremonti has released several successful albums with his self-titled band while Stapp has continued to release solo albums as well.

Overall, Creed left a lasting impact on the rock music scene with their emotional lyrics and heavy guitar riffs. While their journey as a band may have been tumultuous at times, their music continues to resonate with fans today.
