Boyz II Men Special

LadyM 2022/02/01

Everyone in my generation knows that we came up listening to Boyz II Men. Their sound is so classy. Their music really makes you feel good, and listening to them made people think that you are cool and have style...Yes, Boyz II Men was a premium band!!!!

Boyz II Men is one of the top-selling R&B groups of all time.
There were originally 4 members: Michael S. McCary (born in 1972), Nathan Morris (born in 1971), Wanya Morris (born in 1973), and Shawn Stockman (born in 1972). All members were born in the city where I
live...Philadelphia!!! YES!!!

Boyz II Men began experimenting with the “Philly sound”― acappella R&B harmonies ― as students at Philadelphia's prestigious "High School for the Performing Arts" and studied classical music as well as vocal arts.
They participated in talent shows in the Philladelphia area, and sometimes in Delaware and New Jersey. But they really weren't taken seriously until they met “Michael Bivins” from New Edition. He listened to their singing, gave them his phone number, and few weeks later he invited them to New York to sign on as their manager.

The big smash hit song “End of the Road” spent 13 weeks in the top position on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Their album “Cooleyhighharmony” (in 1991) sold more than 7 million copies. The song, "End of the Road," was a soft ballad written by Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds, who would become one of the most successful producers of the 1990s.
Their representative hit songs are : "End of the road" (1992), "I’ll make love to you" (1994), and "One sweet day" with Mariah Carey (1995). This song “One sweet day” by Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men from Mariah Carey’s album “Daydream” CD spent a record most weeks at number one for 16 weeks!

They won grammy awards for best R&B vocal performance by a group in 1992, in 1993, and in 1994. They also won the American Music awards for best new artist and best R& B vocal performance by a group in 1992 as well as the Soul Train award for best new artist in 1992, and the Image Award for best new artist from the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) in 1992.

In 2003, Despite their huge success bass singer Michael McCary left Boyz II Men because of health reasons.
Now there are 3 members but the sound is still absolutely beautiful.
They recently came to perform in my town and I really wanted to go but I truly forgot about it...but I heard people talking about how great the show was and I was so upset! Well, I will definately go to see them perform in the future!!!

In addition to performances, lectures, and stage performances in various places, we have been teaching and training musicians from amateur to major artists, working with major record companies, and producing music.

Currently, we are also teaching vocal lessons from the United States to students living in Japan and the United States using Skype through the Internet.

When returning to Japan temporarily, we receive requests for several return performances in various locations, and in recent years, lectures as well.
